Abstract:
This article intends for the first time to show quantitative data regarding the
reception of French-speaking African literature in Spain. Since it was not searchable in
any repository, we have used the BDAFRICA bibliographic database to disseminate
these unpublished data. Different aspects have been addressed such as the evolution in
reception in a time span of 47 years, the number of works by country, the percentage
of authors according to gender, the authors published by gender and country, the num-
ber of works by gender and country and the impact of the ten most published authors.
The results are intended to serve as an essential basis for academic research and inform
the editors who are shaping the African canon in Spain.
