dc.description | Ford was the pupil of the Dublin portrait painter Michael Mitchell and studied also in France, Italy and London. He started his career in Dublin as a teacher of drawing and a picture restorer and dealer. He later took up premises at Cork Hill as successor to John Brooks as a print-seller, publisher and painter.
