dc.descriptionThe RIAM Piano Immersion Day was an event organised by the RIAM Composition Faculty and took place in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin, on the 15th of May 2016. The day featured a recital of recent Irish piano music given by Martin O'Leary, a performance of John Cage's Sonatas and Interludes by Izumi Kimura, and performances of new piano pieces for young players, all composed by Academy staff and students. The day also included an improvisation workshop led by Izumi Kimura, and David Bremner and Kian Geiselbrechtinger brought the day to a close with an American programme of Cage, Tom Johnston and Glass, and a work by RIAM alumnus, Sebastian Adams.
