Abstract:
In Chapter 1, the potentially terdentate C,N,N' chelating monoanionic aryl diamine ligand "Diam" is manipulated, resulting in the synthesis of several novel compounds. This includes DiamZnEt, the first organometallic complex of an alkylated Zn(II) centre, which is intramolecularly stabilised by the pendant di-nitrogen arm of this ligand.
