Abstract:
The Study Day was aimed at frontline radiotherapy staff who interact with gastrointestinal patients on a daily basis. The aim was to inform participants of the current and future practice in diagnosis, management and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers. The study day updated the knowledge of radiographers and radiation therapists on the current and future practice in the management of GI malignancies. All speakers were experts in their field and presented and analysed the evidence for best practice in this area. It is important for radiation therapists and radiographers to understand the rationale underpinning current practice and also to be aware of emerging trends.
